Fieldwork and Field Learning

Fieldwork has a critically important future role in many geoscience programs globally, particularly in fold / thrust systems, foreland basins and areas of more regional uplift / basin inversion.

Steve has substantial experience in exploration fieldwork programs in a variety of environments (for example Colombia, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Morocco, Venezuela, Vietnam & Yemen) which has been built on preceding university research field mapping projects in the Western Alps and NW Scotland

Cumulative fieldwork experience of several years has resulted from university studies, subsequent exploration field programs, and through leadership of numerous field-based training courses over the past 4 decades.

Although now retired from commercial geoscience, Steve continues to assist with design of integrated field learning programs based in the Western Alps.
